Today the SA Schools Football Association can confirm that the robust approach to appeal & recruit all the 19000 eligible Primary, Middle, and Junior Secondary & Combined schools via the Short Message System is yielding the desired outcomes since even those schools that have never been engaged in the beautiful game of football have raised their hands asking to be included in the DANONE Nations Cup 2016 Tournament.
“We are confident that come 29 February for the closing date for registration process, every category of school will be accounted for. We are looking forward to an exciting and increased chapter of the DANONE Nations Cup South Africa” said Mr Mandla ‘Shoes’ Mazibuko SASFA President. The 1st semester is predominantly Athletics and Aquatics Season for schools across the country, Schools Football utilises this busy period to register and draw fixtures for the programmes that we run, sponsored and non - sponsored.
“The process involves the registration for the McDonald’s U/14 Schools League that caters for both Primary & Secondary Schools, the Copa Coca – Cola u/15 a part of the global initiative of the Coca- Cola Company and the Kay Motsepe Schools Cup. “ added an excited Mr Mandla ‘Shoes’ Mazibuko. Schools are urged to apply for SASFA cards, this will enable them to play on all the above mentioned leagues.
The regional phase of Copa Coca – Cola will be in full swing in 7 of the 63 regions across the country as from the 5 March 2016. Our members are finalizing the teams that will crisscross the breath and length of the country as part of our contribution in the sphere of Talent Identification, Social Cohesion and Life skills thus adding value to the notion of Education through Sport.
